Welcome to QCopy! Before we get to the "fine print" we would like to state our distribution conditions in general terms. We believe in the shareware concept and whether you are a disk vendor, Internet provider or BBS sysop, CD-ROM distributor, YOU do the marketing for us, so we do not want to place any undue restrictions upon you. All we ask for is that you maximize our possibility to obtain registrations. You DO NOT have to contact us first, but we would appreciate a card, fax or e-mail, so that we can log you into our data base and keep you up to date with the latest versions. Drop us a line at louis@baydee.com with your mailing address and we will put you on our update list. And now to the fine print.

Distribution Conditions

QCopy for Windows v2.1 and QCopy v5.1 (for Dos) is hereafter refered to as "QCopy".

This page contains information for anyone who wishes to distribute QCopy . Shareware versions of QCopy may be freely distributed subject to the following restrictions:

QCopy must be distributed without modification, in its entirety. No files, as detailed in the packing list, may be omitted. These files must not be modified in any manner whatsoever.

QCopy may not be listed in advertisements, catalogues, or in any other manner which describes it as "FREE SOFTWARE".

QCopy is not to be packaged as part of another utility or product without the express consent of the Publisher. Qcopy may be offered on diskettes or CD-ROMs as part of a general shareware offering as long as the user is able to read or access all the accompanying files.

QCopy cannot be "rented" or leased

A limited license to use this version of QCopy may only be issued by BayDee Inc.

Disk vendors who charge a distribution fee may do so provided the fee does not exceed 50% of the registration fee. Vendors must not claim, or imply, that this fee covers the cost of the program or licence.

These distribution restrictions apply to anyone who wishes to distribute QCopy, whether they be commercial vendors, user groups, Internet providers, BBS operators, or individuals.

Reads and writes standard formats of 160K, 180K, 320K, 360K, 720K, 1.2M,1.4M and 2.8M independent of the source diskette. For example, copy 5Ź"disks onto 3Ť", or 360K disks on to 1.2M.

Formats and copies many special formats such as Microsofts DMF.

Optimizes copying process i.e. fragmented files are written in one block onto the target disk.

Only that portion of the disk which contains data is read and copied.Can speed up the copying process significantly.

Multiple copying or formatting capability. Read the source only once and make X copies.

Can write image file (DSK-file) of source diskette onto hard drive. This permits "archiving" of diskettes on the hard drive for later duplication.

Optionally compresses DSK-files.

Can copy diskettes into directories.

Disk labels are copied to the target, or can be assigned a new name.

Copies can be made to and from drives A: and B: and/or the hard drive.
